No chemical additives are used to alter the properties of the water, and the taste and quality of the water are not affected. The Aqua 2000 is not a water softener, but it does reduce the surface tention of the water by about 25%,thus making hard water less hard. This improves detergent solubility and reduces the quantity of detergent and soap needed to wash by about 25%. This in turn leads to significant savings in detergent and power usage costs over time.

The Aqua 2000 will also dissolve existing deposits in older pipes and water heaters. The time it takes to dissolve these deposits depends on the hardness of the water supply and the extent of the lime build up within the system. In very hard water systems, if the water if harder than 180 ppm, it may take years to eliminate the existing lime completely.
